Customers expect greater digitalisation of services, while workforces have become ever more technology literate, leading to a broadening of the scope of services required by the business from IT teams. However, with this change comes new technologies. Covid-19 has accelerated digital transformation plans, with an increasing demand for adoption of Microsoft technologies such as Teams, to full blown Dynamics projects replacing legacy systems. This increase in flexible technologies requires new skills and direction within the business. A recent report by “Disruptive Innovators Network” made recommendations to the sector – “housing leaders should understand what skills need to be developed within their IT teams and retain, develop or recruit appropriately”.
